Michael MacRaild graduated from the University of Manchester in July 2018 with a Masters degree in Mathematics and Physics (MMath&Phys). He then joined the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Fluid Dynamics at the University of Leeds in October 2018. Michael completed an MSc in Fluid Dynamics with the CDT before joining CISTIB for his PhD, where he is supervised by Prof. Alex Frangi, Dr Toni Lassila and Dr Ali Sarrami Foroushani.
Research Interest
Michael's research focuses on developing efficient computational fluid dynamics simulation methods to facilitate in-silico clinical trials of endovascular medical devices. His main research areas include fluid dynamics, reduced order modelling, physics-informed neural networks and in-silico clinical trials.
